How does laser vein removal work?

During treatment, the laser system delivers pulses of light energy that causes your blood within the vein to coagulate. This eventually destroys the blood vessels so they are then reabsorbed by your body.
How many laser vein-removal sessions will I need?
The exact number of sessions you’ll need depends on your particular veins and skin type. For many patients, just one or two treatments is effective in fading unwanted veins. Most veins fade away within 2-6 weeks of treatment.
Does laser vein removal hurt?

Do I need to schedule downtime following laser vein removal?
You can resume most normal activities right after a laser vein-removal session. Patients should wear sunscreen in any treated areas that are exposed to the sun. Without sunscreen, you may develop permanent discoloration at the sites of the veins.
You may experience some redness or bruising as a result of treatment. These fade in a short time, but larger veins may leave a tan or browning discoloration for a few weeks or months before completely fading away.
